Powerful mantra for release from sins

This is a very unique Mantra to gain release and freedom from sins. This mantra is from the ancient Hindu religious scripture the Atharva Veda.

The original verse is Sanskrit; I have tried to arrive as close English translation as I could.
The ancients understood the power of the spoken word and how if spoken from the deepest part of ones subconscious it could reach the end target. Try it you will certainly feel contented.

Oh God free me from the sins which I have committed knowingly and unknowingly.
In sleep or when awake, if I have sinned, let whatever has happened or will happen, release me for I have tied myself to a wooden post.
Cleanse me from the filth; the same way as one does by bathing; or how one gain freedom after being released after being tied to a wooden post; or as ghee is clarified by the sieve; Oh God clean me of my sins.
