Prayer for Forgiveness

This is a short Prarthana or Prayer in the Marathi language for forgiveness. This Prayer is normally recited as a Prayer of forgiveness towards Sai Baba of Shirdi, but it can also be recited towards any Deity or Saint you feel comfortable with. This is a great way to begin the New Year with.

Mahalaxmi Stuti - English - Hindi

This is a beautiful verse in praise of the Mother Goddess of Abundance Mahalaxmi from the Savitri Upanishad, the ancient Hindu religious Scripture which is part of the Sama Veda. These scriptures have a deep Spiritual significance and most Stotras and Chalisas owe their origins to these ancient scripture.

Mantra for New Year

Namasmaran [नामस्मरण] means remembrance of the Holy Spirit of God. Remembrance with a pure heart and free from selfish motives helps one connect and become one with God. Clean and pure vibrations have only one frequency and that is the frequency of God. With the New Year approaching, it is great to enter this coming New Year with a positive frame of mind, and mark an auspicious beginning with positive resolutions.

Mahalaxmi Prarthana

This is verse from the Devi Bhagavatam which describes the Goddess of Abundance Mahalaxmi, worshipped as the Universal Mother or the Mother Goddess. This verse is taken as a Prarthana or Prayer recited in praise of Mahalaxmi.  Mahalaxmi as the mother goddess for all round happiness in life, and not only for the purpose of wealth accumulation. All round happiness and bliss also include wealth. This Prayer is suitable for those who find it difficult to recite lengthy Chalisas and Stotras . I have given the English translation and meaning for better understanding.

These are some of the popular Prarthanas or Prayers commonly offered as a form of worship by Hindus. Efforts have been made to keep these Prayers as short and as simple as possible, so as to make it easy and convenient for those who find it difficult to spend time on lengthy prayers.

Shirdi Sai Baba Prarthana

This is a short and sweet Prarthana or Prayer dedicated to Sai Baba of Shirdi. This prayer is especially meant for those devotees who find it difficult to recite long Chalisas and Stotras . I have also translated and given the meaning in English.

Shri Gajanan Maharaj Aarti - English - Marathi

Shri Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon in Buldhana District of Maharashtra was one of the greatest saints who lived in the 20th Century, he took Samadhi on 8th September 1910.Very little is known of his origin, his birth of date is also not known. Shri Gajanan Maharaj is said to have been blessed by the great saint Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj of Akkalkot.Numerous miracles are attributed to Shri.Gajanan Maharaj.It is said that he was instrumental in guiding and helping his devotees achieve realization and attain enlightenment.

Shri Venkateshwara Dhyan - English - Marathi

This is the Dhyanam of Shri. Venkateshwara. Shri Venkateshwara is another name and form by which Vishnu, the Protector is worshipped. This worship is very popular in the southern states of India. The shrine of Shri. Venkateshwara in Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh is the richest and most visited place of pilgrimage in India. Dhyan means concentration or contemplation as a form of meditation on a deity in order to be one with that particular deity. This ensures that your vibrations become one with those of that deity. This is the Dhyan in the Marathi language .

Powerful Mantra to destroy Evil

The Sudarshan Chakra [सुदर्शन चक्र] is the divine weapon of Vishnu, the Protective power of the Universe. The Sudarshan Chakra is shaped like a disk and has 108 spokes. This is the weapon which is used by Vishnu to destroy evil. The Sudarshan Chakra was also the weapon of Shri.Krishna, the eighth Avatar of Vishnu.

The Garden of Heaven

This is a very deep and meaningful poem by Kabir, the mystic poet, one of the greatest preachers of Non-Duality as the only real state of existence. This is a poem of Kabir translated by Rabindranath Tagore. The beautiful garden of Heaven which one hears about from one childhood exists nowhere but in ones body. The entire Universe which one sees every moment of ones life and even that which one does not see exists in oneself.

Mantra for trouble free journey

This is a Shaabri Protection Mantra which is used to make journeys and voyages peaceful and free from obstacles and accidents. This mantra has to be recited 108 times to achieve Siddhi or mastery over the mantra. The recommended days for acquiring Siddhi are -Surya Grahan or Solar Eclipse, Chandra Grahan or Lunar Eclipse, Holi and Diwali,because on these days Siddhi can be achieved easily.

Awakening the Kundalini

The Root or the Muladhara Chakra is the most important of the CHAKRAS. This Chakra is located in that part of the body where the anus and genitals meet. The Sanskrit words which make up the word Muladhara mean-Mula – Root and Adhara – The base or foundation. Thus, Muladhara means – Root base or Root foundation.

Shri.Ram Prarthana

This is an Abhang,which is a devotional song written by Sant Ramdas,the great saint who was the spiritual guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This prayer is dedicate to Shri.Ram,the 7th Avatar of Vishnu, the Maryada Purushottam or the perfect man. This prayer is in the Marathi language and is useful to those who find it difficult to recite lengthy Stotras , Chalisas and Aartis . This short prayer tells one to be like Ram to oneself and to others. This is the only way forward.If one think and acts well with others as one does with oneself,then there will be bliss and happiness everywhere.

Mantra to turn invisible

The Rudrayamala Tantra [रुद्रयामल तंत्र], which is the ancient Hindu Scripture related to Tantra gives a variety of Mantra Sadhnas. This Scripture is dedicated to the fierce Avatar or manifestation of Shiva, which can be taken as the Bhairav Avatar or the Rudra Avatar. The mantra sadhnas given in this Tantra are Aghori [अघोरी], the meaning of which is commonly taken to be fierce.

Garud Aarti - English - Marathi

In the Hindu religion the Garud [गरुड] or Garuda [गरुडा] is the Vahan or the carrier of Vishnu, the Protector. Garud in Hindi means Eagle. The Garuda is an important figure in the Hindu religion, and two of the ancient Hindu religious scriptures the Garuda Purana and the Garudopanishad are totally devoted to him. He also finds reference in the Vedas and the Bhagavad-Gita. Worship of Garuda is said to protect one from snakes and their poison. This is an Aarti in the Marathi language with the English translation dedicated to Garuda.

Hymn of Time

The Atharveda is the 4th of the ancient Indian scriptures the Vedas. Veda translated into English means knowledge. These 4 scriptures are divided into categories or types of knowledge which they impart. The Atharveda is commonly believed to have been composed by the Sages Angiras and Atharvan,some say that these are not two individuals but two groups of Sages. The exact dating of the Athaeveda is unknown but evidence has been uncovered of their practice till about 1500 B.C.

Muktai Aarti - English - Marathi

Muktabai or Muktai is one of the great saint of Maharashtra. Muktai was the younger sister of the great saint Sant Dnyaneshwar. Nivruttinath was the eldest brother followed by Dnyaneshwar, Sopandev and Muktabai. At a very young age of about 10 years the eldest brother Nivruttinath received initiation into the Nath-Sampradaya of the Navnath’s or ‘the nine masters’ by Gahininath,who was 5th in the linage of the Nine Masters. Nivruttinath was the guru of his younger brothers and sister Muktabai.

Hanuman Prarthana - 3

This is another small Hanuman Prarthana ,which means a prayer to Hanuman, also called Bajrangbali or Maruti.Hanuman is also called as Balbhim, which is a symbol of his infinite strength as he is none other than the Maharudra Avatar of Shiva. This is a prayer in the Marathi language. This small prayer calls upon Hanuman to love you, and he is described as the one who put an end to the sadness of Sita, the wife of Ram. Thus it was Hanuman who was equally responsible along with Ram for the destruction of the forces of darkness led by the King of Lanka Ravan.

THE WISDOM OF THE ANCIENTS

Imagine a thinker thinking deeply on the infinite subject of the Creation of the Universe some 8000 years back in time and what would he be thinking about, what would be the depth of his thoughts. Sitting here in 2009AD it is impossible for most people to even visualize this. The Rig Vedas a compilation of over a 1000 verses, whose origin can be traced back to the Harappan culture which evidence suggests existed from 6000BC,gives one an insight into the level of intelligence of these ancients, their wisdom and logic which is lacking in most people even in this advanced age. If The Nasadiya Sutka,Rig Veda-10.129 gives us THE ULTIMATE DESCRIPTION OF CREATION , this verse is an astonishing description of the beginning of creation.

Hanuman Prarthana - 2

This is one shorter Hanuman Prarthana or a prayer dedicated toward Hanuman. This prayer is in the Marathi language. Again this type of prayer is useful for those who find it difficult to practice lengthy Chalisas or Stotras or any other kind of prayers. This prayer in short describes Hanuman or Maruti as the one who proved the purity of Sita, the one who brought Ram and Sita together, the one who brought the Dronagiri Mountain and saved the life of Laxman.This prayer was composed by the great Saint Sant Tukaram.

Shri Ram Mantras

Shri.Ram is the seventh Avatar of Vishnu. Ram is the Maryada Purushottam or the perfect man in the eyes of God. Shri Ram is widely worshipped and prayed to by Hindus not only in India but all over the world. The word “Ram”[ राम] itself is a Siddha Mantra. The meaning of the word Ram can be understood by what the individual letters stand for-

Shri Swami Samarth - Salutation

This is the Jayjaykar [जयजयकार] which means Salutations which is offered to Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj of Akkalkot after the completion of prayers such as Aartis , Chalisas and Stotras . The disciples show their love and dedication towards Shri.Swami Samarth by reciting the Jayjaykar.The salutations should come spontaneously and from the bottom of the heart, which is a symbol of love and sincerity.

Shri Swami Samarth Dhyan

This is the Dhyan [ध्यान] which is required before offering prayer to Shri.Swami Samarth of Akkalkot.Dhya means Contemplation or Concentration with a pure mindset, with your mind and body focusing on the task before you. So before offering prayers such as Aartis , Chalisas and Stotras , it is always advisable to get in the right frame of mind, with all your senses concentrating on the deity. Shri.Swami Samarth is said to be an Avatar of Dattatreya. He is very popular in Maharashtra and the other neighboring states. Numerous miracles and supernatural occurrences are attributed to Shri.Swami Samarth Maharaj.

Mahalaxmi Aarti - English - Hindi

This is an Aarti recited in praise of the Universal Mother Mahalaxmi. She has eight different aspects or manifestations, each of which fulfill a different function to aid humanity. Mahalaxmi is said to be the power or Shakti which gives strength to Vishnu as per Shaktism teachings.Sita the wife of Shri. Ram and Rukmini the wife of Shri.Krishna are said to be the manifestations of Mahalaxmi, who gave strength and powes to these two avatars of Vishnu. Sant Namdev Aarti - English - Marathi

Sant Namdev is one of the most popular and worshipped saint in Maharashtra. Namdev is believed to have been born on 29 October 1230 and left for his heavenly abode at the age of 80 in 1350. Sant Namdev was one of the earliest preachers of the oneness of everything movement. This Bhakti movement started by Namdev is in fact Non-Duality .Sant Namdev wrote over 2500 Abhangs or religious compositions.

Ekvira Devi Aarti - English - Marathi

Ekvira Devi is a widely worshipped Hindu Goddess in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Ekvira Devi is worshipped as the Mother Goddess or Adi-Shakti. This is how the Universal Mother or the Ever-Existent is seen and worshipped in India, more so in Shaktism. Ekvira Devi is the Kul Devta or family deity of a lot of people belonging to Maharashtrian communities like the Kolis or the fishermen community and the CKP [Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu] community.

Badrinath Stavan - English - Marathi

The Badrinath temple is situated in the Gharhwal range of the Himalayas at an altitude of 3,415 meters; the river Alaknanda commences its decent from here. Badrinath is one of the Char Dham’s, and a part of the Hindu religions most respected and valued pilgrimage the, Char Dham Yatra. The great philosopher saint Adi Shankara is said to have established the temple dedicated to Vishnu as Narayana in the ninth century.Badrinath is mentioned in the Padma Purana and the Bhagavata Purana, amongst other ancient Hindu religious scriptures. It is believed that one washes away all the accumulated sins by going on the Char Dham pilgrimage.

Vitthal Aarti - English - Marathi

Vitthal or Vithoba also called Panduranga is the name by which Vishnu is popularly called in most parts of Maharashtra. Vithoba literally translated into English means, the one standing on a brick. Legend has it that there was a great devotee of Vishnu called Pundalik.Pleased with his devotion Vishnu decided to give him Darshan. At the time Vishnu came to give darshan to Pundalik,Pundalik was looking after the needs of his elderly parents. In spite of knowing that the lord had come to give him darshan, Pundalik asked him to wait and threw him a brick to stand on. Pleased with Pundaliks devotion towards his parents, and impressed that for Pundalik his parents came before God, Vishnu remained standing in the same position on the brick forever. This is how the idol of Vithoba is popularly made and worshipped, of him standing on a brick.

The only secret of enlightenment

The innermost depths of the thinking process just before the zero point is where the innermost or the sub-conscious mind resides. This area is what can be termed as the root of the mind. This root can be compared to the root of a tree, just like how the root of a tree has to have a source of water, soil and oxygen for the tree to grow, the same way the root of the mind has to be strong and healthy.
