The Betal leaf; Nagavalli in Sanskrit or Paan in Hindi is normally consumed with tobacco and is addictive in nature. This leaf if consumed in excess with tobacco can cause Oral Cancer.

This is a Home Remedy for swollen breasts which makes the use of the Betal leaves. The problem of swollen and painful breasts is common in most women before and after pregnancy. This is normally due to excessive lactation when the excess milk does not come out.

A few fresh green Betal leaves have to be heated and then tied on and around the breasts. This is said to ensure that the excess accumulated milk is discharged and the swelling subsides; thus relieving the pain.
