The mantra invokes Kamakhya Devi; an important deity in Tantric worship; the rituals of the Kamakhya Tantra are shrouded in secrecy. She is also known considered as the bestower of “desire” and considered to be a form of the Mother Goddess Kali Mata.
The mantra also invokes the name of Katyayani Devi; one of the forms of the Mother Goddess Durga Mata and Narasimha; the fearsome manifestation of Vishnu.
The Mantra Sadhana is thus - In the morning after a bath offer water to the Tulsi [Holy Basil] plant and then remove 11 leaves and consume them while chanting this mantra.
