Read Sai Satcharitra for a Contented Life

The Shri Sai Satcharitra is a work on the life and teachings of Sai Baba of Shirdi;  written by his devotee Govindrao Dabholkar. The text composed during the lifetime of Sai Baba; with the Baba’s blessings contains the essence of his preaching’s and hence is a spiritually alive and vibrant composition. This composition in my opinion ranks amongst Hinduisms most vibrant scriptures; like the compositions of Adi Shankara.

The preachings of Sai clearly indicate that he like Shankara was a Master and Exponent of the Non- Dualistic Path of Life and was like Shankara; a realized Master of the Highest Kind. Now coming back to the Sai Charitra, it is a most devotional holy book for the Sai Devotees; the Book comprising of 53 Chapters is chanted by the devotees for the blessings of Sai.

My recommendations for those with spiritual aspirations and also those frustrated in life; burdened with worldly loads and the lack of or worry of Laxmi and Saraswati, and also those seeking contentment in life is to read the Sat Satcharitra,

 I would recommend reading 1 Chapter every day. I am circumspect about any rules and regulations to be followed while doing the Parayan. For Sai Baba a Non-Dualist, all days and festivals were the same and hence the commencement of the Parayan can be done on any day; however Thursday is considered by Sai Bhakta as the weekly day of Sai Baba. As to any Puja-Archana before and after reading the Chapter; I leave it to the reader to decide.
