This is a Surya mantra for radiant eyes. This is a very potent and powerful Tej Mantra. The Sun is the one on whom the world depends for its existence; no Sun no life; as simple as that.

The eyes play a key role in the personality of a man; those with a commanding and hypnotic personality are known to possess radiant eyes. Radiant eyes give a magnetic aura to one that possesses them.

The Surya mantra given here promises to make your eyes glowing and radiant. Early in the morning looking comfortably at the rising Sun, chant this mantra 7 times, letting the purifying and healing first rays of the Sun fall on your eyes. The mantra is also said to remove eye defects and ailments.

  1. Dear Neel Sir,
For how long do we need to proceed with this mantra to see the result? 7 days maybe? Please kindly reply. Thanks a lot.

  2. Dear Sir,
This is a teja mantra- what is a teja mantra? Kindly give us a brief explanation, please?

  3. Dear Neel Sir,
I checked some web sites and found that the sun rises at about 5:08 AM in summer. Does this mean we must start chanting the mantra around the moment? Getting up at 5 oclock every day is no easy thing for me. Please kindly reply, thanks a lot!

    1. Yes the rays of the rising Sun have to fall on your eyes

    2. Must it be the FIRST ray of the rising Sun? Is it OK to chant it after, say, an hour of the sunrise? Please clarify this as I'm so interested about it. Thanks again.

  4. Dear Sir,
After a large number of search I come to the conclusion that "looking comfortably at the rising Sun" is actually so called Sun Gazing in Hundu and ancient religions, and there is lots of information on the net. However, this practice for radiant eyes requires mantra chanting as well. Would you please specify how to integrate sungazing with the mantra chanting? How long should or can we sun gaze before or after the mantra chanting? Please give a helping hand.

    1. This mantra is to be chanted looking at the rising sun; however if you have fully memorised the mantra; you can also close the eyelids and chant it and let the soothing rays fall upon them.

    2. Can we chant the mantra more than 7 times, like 49 times since there is still lots of time left if we are to sun gaze for about 15 minutes(Chanting it 7 times may take only 3 minutes)? 15 minutes is said to be an acceptable period of time for sun gazing. And I don't get it why we may close our eyes while chanting the mantra? Because to get the benefit of sun gazing you should stare at the sun, letting the sunlight enter your eyes(Though it's said blinking your eyes is allowed).

    3. The Mantra has to be chanted with the mind and body feeling comfortable and relaxed; if you feel relaxed chanting it more than 7 times, then you can continue.

    4. So Neel sir you also agree that we should integrate SunGazing with chanting the mantra as one sadhana? And the sungazing techniques also apply in this sadhana? It's very interesting to find out that sungazing activates the pineal gland(the third eye), which actually has a magnet inside and may form a magnetic field as with the sun's. Isn't this literally what you stated in the post "magnetic aura"? I hope you know what I mean.

    5. Sure and do it with self confidence and belief.

    6. Thank you for the encouragement. One more doubt, is it better we perform Surya Namaskara before chanting the mantra? If you wanna practice this vidhi for a long time, worshipping Lord Surya every day is necessary, isn't it?

    7. That depends upon you; but even meditation upon Surya enhances the personality and give radiance to it.
Results are visible in a short time.

    8. Sir you mean Surya Namaskara is not compulsory; but if we perform it before the chanting, the result will be visible sooner or more effective- is this what you refer to? Kindly clarify this. Thanks a lot.

    9. In my post I have not mentioned anything about Surya Namaskar; only the Mantra and how to chant it. I think you must clear the confusion in your mind and then practice it.

  6. Sir, what if it's cloudy or rainy days? Can we perform it indoors staring at the Sun's or Lord Surya's photo and the mantra will still remain effective? Thanks again Sir.

  7. Respected Neel Sir,
सप्तांशु after I checked the dictionary, should be transliterated as "saptaamshu", so if I am not wrong, please kindly verify the English version. Thanks again Sir.

    1. There are 2 - 3 ways of translating depending on the pronunciation. The dot at top denotes a nasal tone.

  8. Dear Neel Sir,
In the English mantra, is "Kroum" pronounced as "au", like ow in the word "allow"? If so, as I know, "au" is the correct translation in Romanized English; there's no "ou" in Romanized English from Sanskrit. Please kindly clarify for me, Sir. Thanks in advance.

    1. The actual pronunciation will sound like Krom the same as Chrome.

    2. Neel sir, generally in mantras there is no repetition of smae word at two different places. I.e there will be kuru kuru or Maray maray coming together however it will not come twice at two diff places in the same mantra.
I believe here chakra HASTAY and KLesh HASTAY is coming twice. And strongly think that it should be Klesh Haray in the second part.
