TECHNIQUE OF SELF HYPNOSIS

Next, we come to the technique of inducing SELF HYPNOSIS in yourself, and merging into the sub-conscious, to make your deepest desires come true. SELF HYPNOSIS AND THE SUB CONSCIOUS. Are inter related and it is the sub-conscious which really controls the conscious, the technique given below is really simple and can be practiced by anyone----

Lie down on your back on the floor covered with something you feel most comfortable in. Keep your feet one to two feet apart and with your arms along your body with your palms turned towards the ceiling.

Chose a quiet, calm and cool place, concentrate on your breathing, first do long deep and rhythmic breathing and then normal breathing, and after that relax completely.

Start with your feet, ankles, legs, thighs, pelvis, stomach, chest, hands, neck, face, head, scalp and then finally your brain. Relax each and every organ, muscle, thought and sensation in your body.
Gently command them to relax and merge with the sub-conscious.

Keeping your eyes closed breath gently without causing any movement of any part of the body. Concentrate inwardly without any thought and sensation. Let your mind be a perfect void, filled with deep silence and peace. Gradually you will feel you are sinking, heavy and dizzy, and finally you will pass into the hypnotic state of perfect relaxation and sleep from which you will awake quite refreshed both in the mind and body.

This technique can also be practiced in a comfortable high backed rocking chair, armchair or lying down on your bed, please remember you must practice it in whatever way you are most comfortable in.

By the regular practice of self hypnosis one can learn to enter into this hypnotic state at will, anywhere even in trying and adverse conditions.

  1. why should one call self hypnosis? it is simple plain peaceful good sleep thats it...how can this deep peaceful sleep invoke one's sub-conscious desires of mind? can any knowledgable person like to clarify ?

  2. It is not hypnosis per se. It's simply lying in shvasana becoming aware of your breathing and your body parts. Or a very short practice of Satyananda Yoga Nidra, a form of Pratyahara.
    It is the state between being awake and asleep. The state seconds before falling asleep. It is then when the body is most relaxed. In Yoga Nidra this state is extended over 5 to 30 minutes, inducing deep relaxation and refreshment.
