Dattatreya Prarthana

This is a short prayer or Prarthana dedicated toward Dattatreya. Dattatreya in the Hindu religion is the combined manifestation of the Hindu holy trinity of Brahma,Vishnu and Mahesh,the Creator,the Protector and the Destroyer.

This is a Shlok [ verse] from the Dattatreya Stuti,a lengthy prayer normally said in praise of Dattatreya.This prayer can also be recited along with some easy to recite Dattatreya Mantras

This prayer is in the Marathi Language which I have translated into English. It is of particular benefit to those who find it difficult to recite lengthy prayers.

English Translation
Yatirup Dattatreya danddhari l
Padi paduka shobhti soukhhari ll
Dayasindhu jyachi pade dukhhari l
Tumhavin datta mala kon tari ll

दत्तात्रेय प्रार्थना
यतीरूप दत्तात्रेया दंडधारी l
पदीं पादुका शोभती सौख्यकारी ll
दयासिंधु ज्याचीं पदें दुःखहारी l
तुम्हांवीण दत्ता मला कोण तारी ll
