Shiv Tandav Stotra -English -Hindi

The Shiva Tandev Stotra is a devotional hymn recited by the King of Lanka Ravana in praise of Shiva. Ravan seeks the blessings of Shiva and implores him to grant him the boon of liberation from the unending cycle of life and death.

This stotra describes the various qualities of Shiva.

समप्रवृतिकः कदा सदाशिवं भजे ll
कदा निलिम्प-निर्झरीनिकुञ्ज-कोटरे वसन्
विमुक्त-दुर्मतिः सदा शिरःस्थ-मञ्जलिं वहन् l
विमुक्त-लोल-लोचनो ललाम-भाललग्नकः
शिवेति मंत्र-मुच्चरन् कदा सुखी भवाम्यहम् ll
इदम् हि नित्य-मेव-मुक्तमुत्तमोत्तमं स्तवं
पठन्स्मरन्ब्रुवन्नरो विशुद्धि-मेति-संततम् l
हरे गुरौ सुभक्ति-माशु याति नान्यथा गतिं
विमोहनं हि देहिनां सुशङ्करस्य चिंतनम् ll

पूजावसानसमये दशवक्त्रगीतं यः
शंभुपूजनपरं पठति प्रदोषे l
तस्य स्थिरां रथगजेन्द्रतुरङ्गयुक्तां
लक्ष्मीं सदैव सुमुखिं प्रददाति शंभुः ll

  2. Are there any restrictions or rules for reciting this stotra? like avoiding non vegetarian foods, etc?

    1. Such restrictions in my opinion do not apply for the recitation of the Stotra, unless you belong to a particular Panth.
      However, Satvik conduct is a must.

  3. इस शिवतांडवस्तोत्र की अंतिम पंक्तियों का अर्थ है--सायंकाल पूजा समाप्त होने पर रावण के गाए इस स्तोत्र का जो पाठ करता है, भगवान शंकर उसे रथ हाथी अश्व युक्त सदा स्थिर रहने वाली अनुकूल संपत्ति देते हैं.
    धन संपत्ति के लिए इस स्तोत्र का प्रतिदिन पाठ करना चाहिए.

  4. एक शंका है हमारे मन में। आशा है ज्ञानिजन इसका समाधान करेंगे.

    गीता प्रेस की स्तोत्ररत्नावली पुस्तक में शिव तांडव स्तोत्र में 15 स्लोक दिए गए हैं मगर हमने ऑनलाइन काफी जगह देखा की शिव तांडव स्तोत्र में 17 स्लोक दिए हुए हैं। नीचे दिए गए २ स्लोक गीता प्रेस की पुस्तक में नहीं है. ऐसा क्यों? (शिव तांडव स्तोत्र में असल में कितने श्लोक हैं 15 या फिर 17?)
