Gayatri Mantra for Weight Loss

The Gayatri Mantra version given below is known as the Ekpadi or Eka Pada Gayatri Mantra, where there are two occurrences of Om in the Mantra.  This is a simple variation of the Gayatri Mantra, which is considered beneficial for those people who want to lose weight or those who are suffering from voice defects such as stammering or for diabetics, wishing to control their diabetics.

Thus, we can see that there are three broad benefits to be gained through the chanting of this version of the Gayatri Mantra.

The recommended number of chants is 1 Mala or 108 Mantra Chants per day, using a Rudraksha Beads Japa Mala. In case unable to find a Rudraksha Mala, any other Japa Mala can be used.  A calm and quiet atmosphere and frame of mind  is essential for the chanting of this Mantra.

Other than what I have mentioned above, there are no other restrictions or Puja-Vidhi of any kind for practicing this Mantra.

    Can I continue chanting during monthly cycle (periods) as well. I will not use mala and diya dhoop etc..please reply.

      The word Swaha is the generally accepted pronunciation. Swaha and other words found in Mantras are sometimes spelled in different ways depending upon the regional pronunciation. For example Gayatri is written as Gayathri by people in South India.
