Prayer to the Sun

This is a small but effective Hindu prayer which is recited daily after getting up in the morning. This prayer is normally recited facing the Sun and soaking in the early morning Sun Rays.

This Prarthana is the first verse of the Suryashtakam. It is extremely useful for those finding it difficult to recite long prayers.

Adidev:Namasthubhyam Prasid mama Bhaskara l
Divakar namasthubhyam Prabhakar Namosthuthe ll

Meaning
I salute you Primeval God, Shower your blessing on me, God of the light,
I salute you heralder of daylight,the source of light ll

आदिदेव: नमस्तुभ्यम प्रसीद मम भास्कर ।
दिवाकर नमस्तुभ्यम प्रभाकर नमोअस्तुते ॥
