Dattatreya Mantra for Seekers and Common People
In this post, I have written about the Mantra to meditate upon Guru Dattatreya as the Primordial God of Guru; the Creator of Creators or the God of Gods. This Mantra can give everything to the practitioner, including supernatural powers, mental and physical peace, and material and spiritual wealth.
The Mantra will be most beneficial for spiritually inclined people or seekers who wish to evolve into spiritually evolved beings. The Mantra will also be most useful for people who want peace, satisfaction, and happiness.
Bhagwan Dattatreya is as well-known; as the combined form or the sum-total of the Hindu Holy Trimurti of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. He is the Param or Adi Guru or the Guru of all Gurus. Hence, Mantras and Prayers dedicated to Guru Dattatreya are considered to be the most powerful Mantras in the Universe.
This is the main reason why the Great Navnath Gurus and the Nath Sampradaya worship Guru Dattatreya as the Primordial or Ever-Existent Guru or God who has always existed and the “One who transcends” time and space. As explained by me in earlier articles posted over the past several years, those practitioners of Mantra Sadhana who do not have a Guru can worship Guru Dattatreya as their Guru.
Guru Dattatreya is the “Personalised Form” of Existence or the “Energy which created the Universe”. Worshipping the Universe or Existence is very difficult for many and hence many, including the Masters of the Navnath Sampradaya worshipped Guru Dattatreya as the Supreme Being.
|| ॐ ह्रीं क्लीं ब्रह्म-हरिहराय दत्तात्रेया नमः ||
|| Om Hreem Kleem Brahma-Hariharaaya Dattatreya Namah ||
The Meaning of this Mantra in English: By way of this Mantra the practitioner is worshipping Guru Dattatreya as the combined form of the Holy Trinity; Brahma-Creator, Hari-Vishnu the Preserver, and Hara-Shiva the Destroyer of Darkness.
How to Chant this Mantra: The practitioner can chant the Mantra, like a Meditation Mantra, after visualizing Guru Dattatreya as the God or Energy that created the Universe. The Mantra can be chanted mentally or verbally and special rules need not be followed for the chanting of this Mantra.
The Mantra has the immense power of giving anything to the practitioner, including supernatural and mystical powers. Still, it is recommended that the Mantra should be chanted without expectations of rewards because the Mantra will give the practitioner without his asking for it.
The Mantra will be most beneficial for spiritually inclined people or seekers who wish to evolve into spiritually evolved beings. The Mantra will also be most useful for people who want peace, satisfaction, and happiness.
