Ancient Hindu Mantra for Connecting with Ancestors

In this post, I have written about two powerful ancient Pitru Shanti Mantras seeking peace and liberation for departed ancestors by connecting with them. These are sacred Hindu Mantras that can be chanted by people who worry about their ancestors, especially near and dear ones, like expired parents or spouses.

These mantras can be chanted on the days of the Varsha Shraddha or the annual death anniversary of the departed souls. The practitioner can select any one of the two Pitru Shanti Mantras given below and chant it as described in this post.

Who Can Chant the Mantras: Any person can chant the Pitru Shanti Mantras to give peace and satisfaction to their ancestors. The mantras are also suitable for people who feel guilt that they have not done enough for their parents, done something wrong, or were not there when they needed them most. The mantra will act like the most powerful prayer for forgiveness.

The mantras will wipe out the fear, guilt complex, and any lingering thoughts from the mind of the practitioner and give him peace of mind.

Pitru Shanti Mantras

The Procedure of Chanting the Pitru Shanti Mantras: 1] The best days for chanting the mantras are Amavasya, Pitru Paksha, Varsha Shraddha, or on a Saturday or Sunday.

2] The practitioner should take a bath, wear clean clothes, and sit down facing the east direction. He should keep Water, or black sesame seeds called Kale Til in Hindi, and light an Oil Lamp in front of him, while chanting the mantra as an offering to the departed ancestors. He can keep all or any one of these items, whichever is available.

3] Then, he should chant any one of the two Pitru Shanti Mantras given below, 11, 21, or 108 times.

First Pitru Shanti Mantra

Om Namo Bhagavate Vāsudevāya,
Pitṛ Devatābhyo Namaḥ |
Mere Samast Pūrvaj Jahān Kahīn Bhī Hon,
Tṛipt Hon, Shānt Hon, Mukt Hon |
Om Shānti Shānti Shānti |

Second Mantra

Om Pitṛ Devāya Namaḥ.
Om Pitṛbhyo Namaḥ |
Mere Samast Pitar Mujh Par Kripā Karen,
Sukh–Shānti, Bal–Buddhi Aur Samṛiddhi Den |
Om Shānti Shānti Shānti |

4] After the completion of the mantra chanting, the practitioner should keep silent for a couple of minutes and remember the departed souls for whose peace and blessings he is chanting the mantra.
