7 Heavens and 7 Nether Worlds in Hindu Mythology

In this post, I have written about the complete secret structure, rulers, and secrets of the seven heavens and seven netherworlds. This description is based on the Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, and Tantric tradition, and I have also provided mystical information about these invisible and lesser-known worlds.

Seven Heavens or Urdhva Loka: These are the divine worlds above the "Triloka", where the energy is considered to be extremely pure and luminous.

Description and Secrets of the Rulers or Adhishta of the Seven Heavens:
1] Bhuloka: This is the earth, but it is also considered the lowest level of heaven from the point of view of the gods.

2] Bhuvah Lok or Bhuvarloka: Pitris, Rishis, subtle energy of the moon, planets, and stars, ancestral souls, and messengers of the gods reside in this plane.

3] Swah Lok or Svarga: The main heaven of Indra, the King of Gods, Indra's court, Apsaras, and Gandharvas are among the residents of Swarga. This is the plane of dance, music, and heavenly pleasure.

4] Maha Loka: The world of extremely advanced and god like Maharishis and ascetics, where there is an ocean of the energy of knowledge. Maharshi Bhrigu resides in this Loka.

5] Jana Loka: Brahmarshis, Yogis, and Sages connected to Brahma, the Creator of the Universe, live in Jana Loka. These heavenly beings are not affected even by the Pralaya, which is the great deluge or the dissolution of the Universe and all that is contained in it.

6] Tapa Loka: The highest kind of Devgan, the gods, and Mahayogis engaged in deep penance and meditation, exist in this Loka. This is a world with very high vibrations.

7] Satya Loka or Brahmaloka: The highest world in Brahma's creation, where Brahma resides. There is no death, rebirth, or suffering in Satya Loka. It is the world that is closest to the ultimate salvation.

Swarg Loka and Patala Loka

Seven Underworlds or Adholok:
It would be a mistake to consider Patala as just a world of darkness, danger, or evil. It is considered mysterious and extremely grand, where gems, gold, and supernatural beings live.

The Great Mysteries of Patala Loka, the Rulers and their Characteristics of these Worlds:
1] Atala Loka: Here lives a demon named Bal, who is an expert in magical medicines and creating illusions.

2} Vitala Loka: The abode of Hatkeshwar Shiva: There are rivers of gold and gems here, and Hatkeshwar, a form of Shiva, lives in this Patal Lok.

3} Sutala Loka: Raja Bali lives here due to the blessings of Lord Vishnu. He lives in the Sutala Loka more comfortably than even the gods.

4] Talatala Loka: Home to Maya Asura, the demon who is the architect of Maya's world, where there are wonderful palaces and invisible technology.

5] Mahatala Loka: The abode of the Naga dynasty. Many-Headed Serpents live here, who have gained invaluable gems and the most powerful supernatural powers, or Siddhis.

6] Rasatala Loka: The world of demon-serpent Asuras and serpent tribes, who are considered enemies of the gods.

7] Patala Loka: Home of Vasuki, King of Serpents. The deepest world, decorated with gems, of amazing beauty, but sunlight does not reach here.

Mystical explanation in simple words for common folks:
Swarga Lok: Vibrational level of higher consciousness, where love, knowledge, and bliss predominate.

Patal Lok: Concentration of dense energy and mystical secret powers, which is connected with desires, resources, and Maya.

After death, the soul's journey to these Loks is determined by Karma, Sadhana, and the level of consciousness of the soul.
