Home Remedies with Coriander Seeds

Coriander Seeds, Dhaniya ke Beej, in Hindi are a common spice in kitchens all over the world, including India. It also has a place in a lot of traditional health remedies and some Ayurveda preparations. In this post, I have given some simple home remedies with Coriander Seeds for getting relief from some common ailments and body conditions.

Approximately 5 Grams Coriander Seeds are boiled in a cup of water, then when the water starts boiling some Milk and 1 teaspoon Sugar are mixed in it, to prepare a Tea. This Tea is taken every morning as a home remedy to improve the functioning of the digestive system.

A simple home remedy to get relief from excessive body heat, including summer heat,  is to soak 1 teaspoon of Coriander Seeds in water for about an hour and then crush them in the same water, then this water is consumed along with a small rock of Khadi Shakkar [Indian Rock Candy].

A home remedy practiced to relieve Eye Pain is to soak Coriander Seeds in water for an hour and then crush them in the same water. Then the water is filtered with a fine strainer or a Muslin Cloth to remove all the solid residue of the crushed Coriander Seeds. Then this water is sprinkled over the eyes.

A home remedy to stop the craving for food or hunger is to soak and crush Coriander Seeds in water, then filter that water and add Honey and Sugar to it and then drink it.

Coriander Seeds and Barley flour are grounded together in water to form a paste. This paste is used in a home remedy for removing swellings on the body, including long tern swellings, by applying the paste over the swollen body part and bandaging it.
