Which Mantra to Chant on New Years Day

The countdown for the New Year has started and in a few hours time we will be entering 2019. A lot of people, including the regular readers of this site will be searching for a best, appropriate, effective and most powerful Mantra to start the New Year on a positive and auspicious note.

There are many such most powerful, effective and beneficial Mantras, including the Gayatri Mantras, Mantras of Ganesha for a new beginning, the Devotional and Beej Mantras of various Gods and Goddesses, Mantras for Awakening the Kundalini and Mantra for Spiritual Elevation or Peace Mantras that can be chanted for gaining an auspicious beginning to the New Year.

Hence, the choice of which Mantra to chant on New Years day, primarily depends upon the practitioner and his or her individual preferences because every person is a unique individual and the choices and preferences are likely to differ from person to person.

Best Mantra to Chant on New Year's Day

This is because everyone can be broadly classified in the three main Gunas of Satvik, Rajsik and Tamsik and their preferences will most of the time never be the same.

In my opinion, it is always not essential that you start the New Year by chanting the popularly recommended Mantras, but by chanting the Mantra of your Ishta Devta or the favored deity or the deity or supernatural power who attracts you the most.

It is essential to be connected to that deity from the deepest part of the sub-conscious mind.

This is the exactly the reason why, I have not recommended any specific best Mantra for the New Year because in Mantra Shastra, it is very difficult to lay out a generalized rule that will apply to all individuals.

A few points that should be helpful for Practitioners of Mantra Vidya are given below.

1] New Years day is a very good period to get over any superstitious habit, which you have cultivated and only fear makes you repeat that habit.

Please remember that fear or doubt is lack of energy and it is this lack of energy, which makes you mechanically repeat the superstitious habit and hence, this weak energy has to be replaced with strong positive energy.

2] If you want to start the New Year by chanting some of the most recommended Mantras, like Om, The Gayatri Mantra, Shanti Mantras, Om Om Gam Ganapataye Namah, Om Namah Shivaya, Om Namo Narayana or any other popular Mantra, be sure that you believe in the power of that Mantra.

Otherwise, it will only be a futile mechanical exercise, which will not help you one bit.

3] If you are already chanting any Mantra and wish to discontinue it for any reason, you can take some water in your palm and offer it to the deity whose Mantra you are chanting and seek the blessings of that deity and say a small prayer that you are discontinuing the chanting of the Mantra.

Please do not go by the lengthy and complicated rituals that are prescribed for discontinuing the chanting of any Mantra.

4] The same will apply to any paranormal ritual that you wish to discontinue. If you do not know the name of the deity to whom the ritual is dedicated towards, then offer the water to the Eternal Being or to Ganesha, Durga Mata Shiva, Vishnu, Hanuman or any other God or Goddess, if you view him or her as the Eternal being.

5] Nervous energy is the extra flow of energy, which you attract whenever you are tense, try to gather and divert that energy towards something positive, like chanting your favored Mantra.

This is very effective in getting Mantra Siddhi that is if you are striving to gain paranormal or supernatural powers.
