Shri.Gajanan Maharaj the great saint of Maharashtra spent most of his known life in the town of Shegaon in Buldhana District. It is here that he took Samadhi in the year 8 September 1910.

Numerous temples are dedicated to Gajanan Maharaj all over Maharashtra. The main Shrine is located at Shegaon.

‘Gani Gan Ganat Bote ‘[गणि गण गणात बोते] is the Mahamantra of Gajanan Maharaj. The meaning of this Mantra is none is different from God, God exists in everyone and everyone exists in God.

This is another Aarti of Gajanan Maharaj in the Marathi language which I have translated into English.

Jai jai satchitswaroopa swami ganraya l
Avatarlasi bhuvar jad-mudh taraya ll
Jaidev jaidev ll Dhru.ll
Nirgun brahma sanatan avyaya avinashi l
Te tu tatva kharokhar ni:sanshaya assi l
Leelamatre dhrile manavdehasi ll 1 ll
Hou na deshi tyachi janiv tu kavna l
Karuni ‘Gani Gan Ganat Bote ‘ ya bhajna l
Dhata narhari guruvar tuchi sukhsadna l
Jikde pahave tikde tu dissi nayana ll 2 ll

Petvile tya agnivachuni chilmes l
Shanat aanile jeevan nirjal vapis l
