In this post, I have written about the most powerful divine mantra for Moksha Prapti or liberation from the unending cycle of birth and death. In the Garuda Purana, Mosksha is described as “the complete liberation of the soul from the cycle of rebirth and its merging with the Bhagwan Vishnu; the Supreme Being.”
Description of Salvation in Garuda Purana: Moksha is the state where the living soul transcends the bonds of its actions, sins and virtues, body and mind, and merges with the Ever-Existing Vishnu. This small mantra from the Garuda Purana can help the practitioner achieve ultimate liberation. The way of gaining Moksha has been described in the Garuda Purana in simple terms in a Sanskrit Verse “Jnanam Mokshapradam Naṉyat. Bhaktiḥ Paramgataya Ch.” (Garuda Purana Chapter 7)
This means that Moksha is not achieved merely through penance, charity, or fasting, but through knowledge, devotion, and true action. That is, only knowledge or self-realization and dedication will give true liberation. The Garuda Purana preaches, “Only devotion to Vishnu, truthful living, and the pursuit of knowledge open the door to salvation.”

Garuda Purana Mantra for Ultimate Salvation:
ॐ नमो विष्णवे गरुडवाहनाय मोक्षप्रदाय नमः॥
Om Namo Vishnave Garudavahanaya Moksha Pradaya Namah॥
Meaning of All Words of the Moksha Prapti Mantra:
Om: The universal symbol of the Supreme Truth, God.
Namah: Salutation.
Vishnave: A Name of Lord Vishnu, who is the sustainer of the entire creation.
Garudavahanaya: Those who are mounted on Garuda or whose vehicles are Garuda.
Mokshapradaya – Those who provide moksha (liberation).
Namah: Salutations to him again.
Full Meaning: "I Pray to Lord Vishnu, who is seated on the divine Garuda, to free me from the cycle of birth and death and bless me with ultimate salvation."
Benefits of the Mosksha Prapti Mantra and How to Chant it: This divine mantra from the Gurada Purana liberates the Atma or soul from the bondage of sins and brings spiritual advancement, peace, and a feeling of oneness with Bhagwan Vishnu. It gives immense peace of mind, satisfaction, and happiness to the practitioner.
Chanting the mantra 9 or 108 times early in the morning or at the end of your daily prayers is considered extremely auspicious.
Special procedures or rituals are not needed for chanting the Mosksha Prapti Mantra. But, chanting it with unflinching faith and belief in Bhagwan Vishnu will surely grant liberation to the soul of the practitioner by merging it with Bhagwan Vishnu.
