Hindu Prophecies and End of World

The Srimad Bhagavatam also called as the Bhagavata Purana, is considered to be one of the most sacred of the Hindu religious composition, which contains the path to the realization of the true nature of God and achieving Mukti or freedom from the bondage, which prevents the Soul from knowing it real nature. The Bhagavata Purana.also contains some of the most startling predictions relating to end times of the Age of Darkness, the Kali Yuga.

For the past many years, this site has been publishing our own interpretations relating to the global conditions prevailing at the peak of the Age of Darkness. The peak of the Age of Darkness is the time when Tamas or Rakshas Guni forces will be at their most powerful and dominate the world.

The period of peak of the Kali Yuga is described in most of the Hindu Prophecies as the period when unimaginable destruction takes place and triggers off another step in the evolutionary cycle of creation. This destruction, which is often mistakenly referred to as the End of the World, is by way of war and natural disasters like famines, plagues, floods, tsunamis, volcanoes and earthquakes.

One of the most relevant of the Bhagavata Purana prophecies is the one in relation to what can be called as the principle of governance of “Might is Always Right”. This prophecy speaks about how the corrupt, wealthy and powerful will dominate and exploit the weak.

Some other prophecies of the Bhagavata Purana speak about “Justice for only those with Wealth and Money”, “Money is the only Status Symbol”, “People will starve to death because of Famines and exploitation”, Men will only love Money”, “Religious places will be dens of Vice and Corruption”, “There will be no Family Values and Money will be the only Virtue”, “Loss of Morality”. All these predictions and some others contained in the Bhagavata Purana appear to be offshoots of the “Might is Always Right” prediction.

One is bound to ask, what is new or earthshaking about these prophecies, it has always been like this ever since the times of the earliest known Kings, who have ruled and exploited the weak and helpless. The same life conditions keep repeating at regular intervals, how they can be specific to the peak of the Age of Darkness.

Yes, it is true that these conditions described as the peak of Kali Yuga have been always present in some or the other part of the world constantly ever since the first rulers appeared on earth.  The major difference today is that the world is a much smaller place infested with weapons of mass destruction, which are capable of taking the world back to the Stone Age.

The principle of governance by “Might is Always Right” will not work as it did so efficiently in the past.  It is just a matter of time when the Jihad terror networks get their hands on weapons of mass destruction or when some of the “Rogue Nations” challenge the principle of “Might is Always Right”. It is not a question of if but when the destruction predicted at the time of the peak of Kali Yuga takes place and kick starts the next step in the evolutionarily cycle.
