In this Post, I have written about three simple, yet powerful bedtime prayers dedicated to Shri Ram and Hanuman for protection, peaceful sleep, and removing worries, tensions and fears from the mind.
The relationship between Shri Ram and Hanuman is inseparable, and the Shastras say that where there is Ram, there is Hanuman, and vice versa. On the higher spiritual levels, Ram represents the "Ishwar Tatwa" or the divine element, and Hanuman represents the "Atma" or the soul, which is always connected to the divine.
It is also mentioned in the scriptures that "Ram is Knowledge and Hanuman Faith; both make life fearless". All impossible tasks in the Ramayana became possible because of Hanuman. It is therefore correctly stated by some spiritualists that the path to Ram goes through Hanuman.

The Procedure of Chanting the Bedtime Prayer of Ram and Hanuman: There are three powerful prayers given in this post, all three contain "Ram-Naam" and "Hanuman-Naam" or the names of Shri Ram and Hanuman, which by themselves are the most powerful Mantras.
The practitioner can choose any one of these three uncomplicated and easy to recite prayers and chant it 1 or 3 times just before going to sleep at night. The practitioner can recite the prayer mentally or verbally.
There are no rules needed to recite the prayer, after chanting it the practitioner should keep silence for about a minute and then go to sleep. However, it is better to stick to the same prayer every day because chanting it daily will increase its effects and makes it more powerful.
First Shri Ram and Hanuman Bedtime Prayer:
जो राम नाम सोए, उसको सपना शुभ होए।
हनुमान की छाया, रहे सिर पर हर समय॥
Jo Ram Naam soye, usko sapna shubh hoye |
Hanuman ki chhaya, rahe sir par har samaya ||
Second Before Sleep Prayer to Ram and Hanuman:
राम राम राम राम, सब दुख जाएं काम।
हनुमान रखवाले, शांति दे भगवान॥
Ram Ram Ram Ram, Sab dukh jaayen kaam |
Hanuman rakhwaale, Shanti de Bhagwan ||
Third Ram-Hanuman Prarthana:
राम नाम का जाप करूँ, हनुमान जी की छाया हो।
हर भय और बुराई दूर हो, शांति और सुख घर में छा जाए।
Ram Naam ka jaap karoon, Hanuman Ji ki chhaya ho |
Har bhay aur burai door ho, Shanti aur sukh ghar mein chha jaaye |
The Benefits of Chanting these Bedtime Prayers: These prayers act like powerful stress-busters and give fast relief from fear, tensions, worries and give sound and peaceful sleep to the practitioner.
If the practitioner is worried because of any lingering fear, problem or threat, it goes out from his mind and gets resolved due to the powerful positive vibrations generated by the prayer. The prayer will also reduce nightmares and fear of the night.
