This is a very unique Mantra to gain release and freedom from sins. This mantra is from the ancient Hindu religious scripture the Atharva Veda.
The original verse is Sanskrit; I have tried to arrive as close English translation as I could.

Oh God free me from the sins which I have committed knowingly and unknowingly.
In sleep or when awake, if I have sinned, let whatever has happened or will happen, release me for I have tied myself to a wooden post.
Cleanse me from the filth; the same way as one does by bathing; or how one gain freedom after being released after being tied to a wooden post; or as ghee is clarified by the sieve; Oh God clean me of my sins.
