Love song for the first night
This here is a love charm from the ancient Hindu scripture The Atharvaveda. This is charm which was recited by newly weds on their "first night”. The hymns were and are still considered sacred and these charms were considered as effective Mantras and said to have magical powers.
What is interesting to note that the definition of love and Sex is the same today as it was Centuries back in time. While reading the hymn you must remember that it was written over 3000 years back in time. The Atharvaveda is believed to have been compiled in the period 12th to 10th centuries BC.The translation from the original Sanskrit is my own.
Love oozes from our eyes,
Our bodies smooth as butter,
Come let’s become one,
In mind and body.
