Holi is normally celebrated according to localized culture and tradition in most parts of India. However the theme is common as the bonfire is lit and the burning of Holika takes place; this symbolizes the end of evil. The next day, known as Dhuli marks the commencement of a new beginning as people celebrate this event by throwing colors on each other. This also coincides with the end of unproductive winter and the beginning of spring; the harvest season.
The period of Holi is also considered to be a most auspicious period for the commencement of numerous Mantra Sadhanas as, time and again stated on this site. This is an auspicious period for gaining Siddhi as the Sadhana which is started on this day is said to bear fruit quickly.
Wishing all friends and well wishers a happy and prosperous Holi.
